The protester is thought to have been Simon Brodkin, the British comedian who last July infiltrated a televised Fifa press conference and showered Sepp Blatter, the organisation’s disgraced president, with banknotes.
In front of the world’s media, Mr Brodkin clad in black overalls, holding a device labelled “cheat box” and wielding a large spanner managed to get on to the stage as the German car maker previewed its electrically-powered up! city cars.
The new car was being introduced by Juergen Stackmann, board member for the VW brand. But he was interrupted when the Mr Brodkin tried to get under the vehicle, offering “to fix it” – in a reference to the emissions scandal which wiped billions of euros off the company’s value.

“It’s a brand new car it does not need fixing,” said Mr Stackmann, with security guards slow to react and apparently unaware that the protester was not part of the show. hilarious
