Horror miss. Former Man City striker Edin Dzeko produces miss of the season during Roma win

Horror miss ...
Former Man City striker Edin Dzeko misses in front of unguarded net for, Roma

Is Edin Dzeko's miss the worst ever?

The Bosnian striker inexplicably dragged his effort wide of the far post after being given arguably the easiest chance he'll have to score in his career

Super miss: But Dzeko later made up for it scoring 2 goals
There was a time when Edin Dzeko was Manchester City 's go-to man for a goal. But the Bosnian striker appears to have lost his magic touch since leaving the Premier League for Roma - and submitted a contender for the greatest miss of all-time during Sunday's match with Palermo.

Dzeko was faced with the task of tapping a ball into the gaping goal from just three yards out after team-mate Maicon squared the ball across the goalkeeper's path.
Unmarked at the back post, Dzeko could not have asked for an easier chance to open the game's scoring.

But inexplicably, he managed to miscue his effort side of the far post when, as the cliché goes, it was far easier to find the back of the net.
Maicon showed his dismay at the miss while Dzeko merely leaned his head against the goalposts, as if he was waiting for the earth to gobble him up.

Luckily for Dzeko, it did not cost his team as they went on to claim a 5-0 victory over struggling Palermo at the Stadio Olimpico.
In fact, he made amends himself just minutes later, when he coolly brought from ball down on his chest before smashing a half-volley through the goalkeeper's legs.
And he got his second later in the match, which also saw former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah score a brace.

Salah's second goal was exhibition stuff, as he curled the ball home from an impossible angle.
The win took Roma up into fourth place in Serie A , eight points off leaders Juventus.

Is this miss the worst ever?
