Puff and pomp: Heidi Klum, 42, mixed too much material with a terribly awkward cleavage cut-out, making this billowing lavender chiffon gown one of the worst fashion faux pas at the Oscars this year
In the opinion of some, Heidi Klum leads the stars who suffered serious style disasters on the Academy Awards red carpet
...here is the full list of stars who did not wow us with their fashion sense at the 88th OSCARS
Whoopi Goldberg, Kate Winslet and Kerry Washington also join the list of this year's fashion fails

Their hearts will go on: Kate posed for a picture with Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, who finally won the Best Actor award
It was Leonardo DiCaprio's big night (finally!), but of course his Titanic co-star Kate Winslet was on hand to help him celebrate winning the Academy Award for Best Actor.
The British actress tends to stick to a winning red carpet formula of curve-enhancing black dresses, and while this one does fit that bill, it's still a departure for Kate. The silk lamé texture of her strapless gown gave it a high shine effect that looked different from every angle!
But we have to say the shape is perfect. The strapless style and sweeping train is award-worthy and when accessorized with Nirav Modi jewelry and Leo on her arm, this Ralph Lauren number will certainly go down in Oscar history as one to be remembered.
Kate's dress is custom made, but click the link (right) to shop the current Ralph Lauren collection if you've got a red carpet-worthy occasion coming up. Or take a look at the gowns we've got lined up for you in the edit below. This Adrianna Papell dress will make you feel like an A-lister!

A strong look: Whoopi Goldberg, 60, was not flattered in the least by this black off-the-shoulder number, which showed off her trashy shoulder tattoo to full effect, but did little else to showcase her figure
Swing and a miss: Whoopi's dress was modeled after Bette Davis' dress in All About Eve (top, 1950), but didn't quite hit the mark, while her choice of tentacled jewelry was irksome to say the very least (bottom)
The ever-elegant Kate Winslet also suffered a less than stylish stumble this year, donning a black strapless gown that was so shiny it looked part trash bag, part oil-slick.
Meanwhile Whoopi Goldberg, 60, disappointed in a gown created to echo Bette Davis's style in 1950's All About Eve, but lacked the flattering cinched-in waist and fur-trimmed sleeves of the original and was made even worse by a set of creepy jewelry, including a bracelet-ring combination that appeared to be shaped like a huge silver octopus which had crawled onto the top of her hand.
Mindy Kaling, 36, usually a fan favorite, looked incredibly constricted in her tight, off-the-shoulder gown, that exposed the outline of her bra along the top and was completed by a pair of wrinkled curtain-like lengths of blue fabric that were tied at her back and then left to trail behind her.
Former MADtv star Orlando Jones, 47, made his early entrance onto the carpet going for the gold - and the silver, and the bronze - in his super shiny metallic tuxedo jacket, which appeared to be decked out in stylized feathers of different metallic shades.
Fighting first: Scandal star Kerry Washington looked part gladiator part dominatrix in this odd pleather-topped Versace ensemble
Rounded off: Alicia Vikander, 27,looked like Belle from Beauty and the Beast in this long pale yellow gown with a high-to-low bubble skirt, which, combined with the silver embellishments, made the whole ensemble look more high school than high fashion. A bit much:
Not the best fit: Mindy Kaling, 36, exposed the outline of her bra in this too-tight dress that looked to be constricting the movement of her arms and was also followed by a curtain-like train
Full metal jacket: Orlando Jones, 47, took the gold, the silver and the bronze in this extremely shiny tuxedo jacket, which featured a sort of stylized feather pattern
Jared Leto, 44, also decided to break away from the traditional tuxedo, arriving on the red carpet in a very unique red and black ensemble which consisted of a black blazer and trousers, both of which had bright red piping along the seams, a bold red flower pinned at his neck in place of a bow tie, and what looked like a pair of black slippers that had a white snake pattern printed on the front of them.
Songwriter Diane Warren, 59, tried to keep things casual with a sleek collarless blazer, but fell flat as the jacket was clearly badly tailored for the music legend - who penned such hits as Aerosmith's Don't Wanna Miss a Thing and Lady Gaga's Til It Happens to You, which - with the ill-fitting coat made even more off-putting thanks to the underlying blouse with an asymmetrical collar.
TV personality Keltie Knight was clashing in colors and fabrics with a strapless dress which was half pink and half peach with a messy mass of colliding fabric over the center that looked like a terribly tied bow.
Singer Andra Day rocked a stunning vintage hairstyle with gorgeous make-up, but her pale yellow gown appeared to be too large for her in the bust area, slouching down in an uncomfortable fashion as she posed with one well-manicured hand on her hip.
Director Shira Piven, the sister of actor Jeremy and wife of director Adam McKay showed up on her husband's arm in a black dress simply spilling over with unnecessary fabric, including ruffles and what appeared to be a cape on the wrong side of her body, while director Serena Armitage accompanied her fellow filmmaker Benjamin Cleary in an unflattering, ill-fitting, awkwardly-lengthed white dress that looked more like a bridesmaid's gown.
Unique look: Jared Leto, 44, eschewed the traditional tuxedo in favor of a black-and-red suit that very closely resembled the kind of ensemble worn by a flamenco dancer. He finished the look off with a pair of slippers that were each decorated with a picture of a snake
Dress-down disaster: While there is never anything wrong with opting for a suit on the red carpet, Diane Warren's oh-so-casual take was totally inappropriate for the Oscars
Pink to make the boys do a double-take: While the color of Keltie Knight's gown flattered her skintone, the over-the-top shape did nothing to flatter her figure
Poor fit: Andra Day was not so mellow in yellow, walking the red carpet in an ill-fitting frock which was incredibly unflattering on the bust
Disastrous duos: Shira Piven (Top left), Serena Armitage (Top Rrght), and Sian Grigg (Bottom), all arrived on the arms of their partners - but it was their less than fabulous fashion choices which drew all of the attention
Other fails: Artist Christine Scuilli (left), the wife of composer Carter Burwell, appeared to have a coffee stain down the lower part of her dress, while Dave Grohl's wife Jordyn Blum (right) sported a gown that could have been ripped from a bordello's walls
Less than reflecting: Model Lily Cole wrapped her slender frame into what appeared to be a wad of tinfoil
Tip to toe: Actress Gianna Simone (left) was headache-inducing in sunflowers and poppies while TV presenter Lara Spencer (center) showed off every bit of her torso in an ill-fitting blue gown and Liz Hernandez confused critics in a strange structured mesh dress (right)
Make-up artist Sian Grigg marred an otherwise elegant gown by accessorizing with dark red velvet shoes and a clutch that looked more like a blood clot, while artist Christine Scuilli, the wife of composer Carter Burwell, looked like she'd suffered a massive coffee spill down the lower half of her dress.
Jordyn Blum, the wife of Dave Grohl, walked the carpet in a dress that could have been made from the lacy curtains in a dark bordello.
Model Lily Cole looked like she was the restaurant leftovers in a tinfoil-like crumpled gown that hid her slender frame.
Amy Poehler could have taken flight at any moment in her embroidered winged dress that was also covered in busy embroidery of multi-colored butterflies and flowers:
Matchy matchy: Steven Spielberg's wife, actress Kate Capshaw, looked as though she was trying to copy her husband in this tuxedo-style outfit, however the awkwardly cropped jackit and too-baggy pants did little to impress
Serious statement: Presenter and model Jackie Miranne, pictured left and right with her mother Joy Mangano, had to struggle in this extra-long and extra brightly-colored greenish yellow dress
Taking off: Amy Poehler looked like she was winging it in this over-embroidered number
