New groom drowns in hotel pool while took pictures, on last day of honeymoon ... not realizing he was drowing

On the last day of their honeymoon, 28-year-old  Maira Shahid  watched through her camera lens as her newlywed husband waas drowning in a swimming pool of the Jebel Ali Beach Hotel in Dubai .
Maira Shahid was taking pictures of tragic Mohammed Majid Malik in the water without realising he was getting into difficulty. She dived into the pool in a desperate bid to help the 28-year-old but was unable to lift him from under the surface. Fellow hotel guests heard Maira's screams and pulled Mohammed out of the water but he tragically died.

According to the mirror, the new couple went to the pool area after returning from a romantic meal to mark the end of their honeymoon. Maira said: "We were there paddling and chatting, then we went around the other side and sat there.
"He said he wanted to swim. I asked him if he could swim as it was our first holiday together.
"He said he had done it before at the gym."



Mohammed waded backwards into the pool as Maira took pictures - but he got into difficulty after dropping out of his depth. She recalled: "I could see his hands going up and down and I went into the pool to try to get him up but I couldn't".
